Modules are the largest value of a solar systems. After Germany was the undisputed market leader in the construction of modules for many years, this market leadership gradually passed to China about 10 years ago. Chinese and other Asian manufacturers dominate the world market by more than 60% with a strong upward trend. Against this superiority clear resistance has emerged in recent years in many countries. Many countries do not just want to be buyers of modules only, they want to be involved in the development themselves. Getting started is relatively easy and inexpensive. Modules can be produced on semi-automated systems relatively easily and at almost the same cost as in Asia.
